University of Minnesota - Twin Cities
Mentor: Jacqueline Palmer, Ph.D., Family Medicine, Division of Physical Therapy
Victoria Lee is double majoring in Neuroscience and Business and Marketing Education. She is an upcoming senior at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and some of her interests are photography, hiking, being outdoors, writing stories, and trying new foods. Some of her future goals are pursing her MD/PhD and becoming a professor or creating her own business that aligns with healthcare. This summer she is excited to be one of the coordinators for the Multicultural Center of Academic Excellence's Kick Off event.
During her internship in Dr. Palmer's laboratory she will have the exciting opportunity to be involved in their NIH-sponsored project (R00AG075255), with a focus on understanding the neuromodulation of cortical activity in the context of repeated balance perturbation exposure in older adults. She will also have the opportunity to work closely with an incoming postdoc in the lab in a new project examining the intricate interplay between cardiac activity and cortical responses to transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) in older adults with diverse clinical balance abilities. Her responsibilities would include actively participating in data collection and data analysis of neurophysiologic and clinical outcomes, potentially utilizing hybrid options to accommodate student needs.
