On Friday, August 15th, the MnDRIVE Brain Conditions team was proud to host an outreach booth at the Steele County Free Fair in Owatonna, MN. It was a beautiful day to connect with the rural community and share the excitement of brain science with fairgoers of all ages.
Our booth was filled with engaging activities and resources designed to spark curiosity and conversation about brain science. Visitors enjoyed brain games, fun giveaways, temporary tattoos, and coloring sheets, while also exploring hands-on demonstrations of neuromodulation equipment. We loved seeing families and individuals stop by, learn something new, and walk away with both knowledge and smiles.
Representing the University of Minnesota at the fair was a true joy. Events like this allow us to bridge the gap between research and community, ensuring that important brain science discoveries are accessible and meaningful to all Minnesotans—especially those in rural areas.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our amazing volunteers who gave their time and energy to make the day such a success. We could not have done it without you!
Thank you, Marina Bryants, Jeanine Pebbles, Meredith Bauer, Karrie Molitor, Amanda Reuter, Mia Freiberg, Alana Lieske, Valerie Ferment, Crystal Gettman, Jing You, Si-Yu Tsai, and Grace Purcell
