At the Minnesota Brain Bee, students competed in two rounds of quizzes at the University of Minnesota to determine the state winner, who will go on to the national competition in Baltimore, Maryland.
To enter the competition, groups of students had to complete the MnDRIVE Neuromodulation Challenge.
The winning videos best followed the challenge instructions, "create a short video that addresses a role for neuromodulation in the treatment of depression. Use this opportunity to be creative and showcase your school’s unique perspective." They had to include the following:
- A neuromodulation therapy for depression (include a specific example)
- The pathway between University research and therapies.
- The relevance or impact of depression in your own community (and briefly describe your community for example is it your school, your friends, your family, your neighborhood, your town, etc.)
- What the MnDRIVE Brain Conditions Initiative is trying to achieve
