In honor of Epilepsy Awareness Month we wanted to highlight some of our epilepsy work!
The University of Minnesota’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center now offers a cutting-edge Neuromodulation Clinic, where patients with DBS, RNS, and VNS receive precision, biomarker-guided care from a collaborative team that includes Drs. Sandipan Pati, Robert McGovern, Tay Netoff, Rosana Esteller, Noam Harel, and Rémi Patriat.
We have also launched three first-of-their-kind specialty clinics:
• A First Seizure Clinic for Older Adults using EEG (brain wave testing) and ultra-high-field 7-Tesla MRI to uncover hidden causes of seizures such as stroke, brain tumor or dementia.
• A Digitized Sleep Clinic—the nation’s first offering home-based sleep studies and tele-sleep therapy for rapid access.
• A Women’s Epilepsy Health Clinic providing expert care for pregnancy, hormonal transitions, and menopause.
